The Willamette Falls Cleanup focused specifically on tackling the industrial legacy of the site. We mobilized the recreation community to pull out industrial debris and trash from the base of the falls to restore this historic waterway.

Decades of use had left the base of the falls cluttered with industrial debris. Our cleanup team worked to identify, dislodge, and remove these submerged hazards.
The Method
Heavy Operations
This task was conducted using heavy equipment. Thousands of pounds of steel, concrete, and trash were hoisted and removed via barge and crane operations.
The Goal
Safe Recreation
The effort was part of We Love Clean Rivers. By removing dangerous debris, we paved the way for safer recreational use for kayaks, canoes, and river enthusiasts.
