Earth Day (April 22) River & Riparian Cleanup at Riverside Park

We Love Clean Rivers will host a cleanup at Riverside Park on the lower Clackamas River (river mile 3 and only minutes from Interstate 205). Bring your own boat and work the shorelines from the water. Or just walk the beaches and comb for litter on foot.

Where?
Riverside Park
17298 SE Water Ave
Clackamas, OR 97015

Parking is free.

WHEN?
EARTH DAY
APRIL 22, 2-5PM

THIS IS A VOLUNTEER EVENT AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

  • We will provide cleanup supplies, pizza, and sodas.
  • Free event, and children are welcome with a guardian or parent.
  • All participants must wear a Personal Floatation Device (PFD, aka ‘Life Jacket’) on the water.
  • Bring your own ‘boats and boots:’ all activities are with your own equipment and at your own risk.
  • The goal is to clean up the shoreline and shallows (both sides) that border Riverside Park. See map below.
  • Meet at the Riverside Park boat launch parking lot around 2:00PM on Saturday, April 22th (Earth Day!)
  • We will be cleaning until 5:00PM; join us for Pizza (vegetarian and omnivore) afterwards.
  • All cleanup supplies (gloves, pickers, bags, buckets) will be provided.
  • NOTE: We are not running shuttles or planning to ‘run’ the river. The Riverside Park ‘pool’ (flatwater) is almost a mile long.
  • OK for beginner paddlers: this is a great chance to get an early Spring paddle on very calm water.
