We heartily promote anyone who picks up litter while they are out on the river. 

That’s the foundation of a clean river – we must remove litter on a regular basis and ultimately reduce the amount that gets in the river in the first place. 

Anything less is a compromise: the river wants it ALL out. 

One way to be a part of that regular cleanup effort is to

We are still formulating how WLCR and its website/network can promote safe, regular, and productive cleanup events all in the course of a pleasant float/paddle down a favorite Class I-II rivers, self-organized and supported. 

We are also looking to unite with other nonprofits to promote more strategic cleanups on Class III+ rivers and tricky/dangerous urban waterways (think, how to safely remove abandoned cables left in the river?). 

The goal remains the same:
